Mixbook
As a Senior UX/UI Designer contracting at Mixbook, I played a key role in the rebrand and transition to a new design system across desktop and mobile. The work covered both customer-facing product journeys and the reusable foundations needed to support ongoing design and development.
The product needed to balance complex photo-management and eCommerce tasks while reducing friction and bringing mobile functionality into line with desktop. Teams working across time zones also needed a clearer shared language so that patterns, components and publishing decisions remained consistent as the platform evolved.
I created UX flows and responsive modules using modals, overlays and slide-out trays, supported by prototyping, heat mapping and user-behaviour analysis. I also built design-system iconography, atoms, molecules and organisms, collaborating with UX, UI and development teams across multiple time zones to deliver development-ready components. This linked individual feature improvements to a scalable system rather than creating isolated solutions.
The work established a more intuitive, consistent and scalable cross-device experience, with stronger communication between design and development and stricter publishing standards across the system. Reusable components made future delivery more efficient while giving customers a clearer experience as they organised, edited and purchased their photo products.
